Rogan-Delft awarded a multi-site PACS project in Tanzania

Veenendaal, The Netherlands, January 18th, 2011 - Rogan-Delft via its sister company Delft Imaging Systems (and service partner company Pyramid Pharma) has been awarded a large multi site PACS project in Tanzania, EastAfrica to facilitate early Tuberculosis detection.

The project will be supported technically by the Dutch Foundation PharmAccess International and will provide state-of-the art TB screening at Tanzanian Prison Services. Financing for this project is provided by USAID.

The project involves Computer Aided Detection of TB in digital Chest X-rays as well as the routing of images taken from an Odelca DR system (to be installed in a correctional institution) to a large central hospital, housing a Zillion PACS which will also be connected to other imaging modalities, for onward distribution of images to multiple locations for teleradiology reporting.

Commenting on the joint award to both Delft Diagnostic Imaging companies, Mr. Guido Geerts, Rogan-Delft’s CEO said. ‘This project is ground breaking for the East Africa region in different ways. Firstly, it demonstrates what can be achieved when various politically quite diverse institutions have a single goal to digitize their working environment and pool or share their resources accordingly. Secondly, the investment in PACS means that the planned infrastructure will support other additional remote satellite clinics to also share the same network for storage and reporting of images and without the need to have a dedicated radiologist at these peripheral or remote country locations. Thirdly the benefits of eliminating film at each participant site from the outset, and being able to view and read images at multiple locations within the city of Dar-es-Salaam cannot be underestimated. It is very rewarding to see African countries investing in technology that we often take for granted in Western Europe. We are honored to be trusted with a project of this magnitude and complexity.’

Rogan-Delft will be present at the Arab Health Exhibition 24th-27th January 2011, and located at Sheikh Saeed Hall 3, Booth number S3 C70.

Rogan Delft awarded with first XDS-I installation

Veenendaal, The Netherlands, January 20th, 2010 - Rogan-Delft is awarded with a first sale for its progressive approach of Cross enterprise Document Sharing XDS-I.

Bronovo Hospital of The Hague acquired Rogan-Delft’s solutions to exchange images with four other regional hospitals. In this first stage Bronovo hospital is outsourcing PET-CT studies of its patients to one of the other hospitals where the images and reports are stored locally. Reports and studies however have to be integrated in the diagnostic process at Bronovo hospital.
The implementation of the Rogan Delft XDS-I environment eliminates the need to transport studies on CD and decreases the turnaround time of the findings.
The four hospitals, all using different PACS vendors, are now considering to obtain Rogan XDS adapters to enable their non-Rogan archives to act as a document source in their common XDS domain. All Rogan Delfts XDS products, registry, repository, diagnostic viewers and XDS adapters are developed conform international standards and are own developments from Rogan Delft.

Rogan-Delft’s XDS solutions steal the show at RSNA

Rogan-Delft successfully participated at the XDS Image Sharing Demonstration organized by RSNA and IHE at this year’s RSNA.

The purpose of the demonstration was to show interoperability between different hospitals and individual actors, all sharing their diagnostic information among each other. Rogan-Delft very successfully played three different roles in the scenarios performed. In these scenarios a patient is followed all the way through a diagnostic process, visiting different hospitals and physicians and having full access to his/her data along the process.

“We attracted much attention from both OEM partners and end users”, says Guido Geerts, CEO of Rogan-Delft. “Rogan-Delft demonstrated how unlocking patient data with our XDS solutions increased efficiency and patient care.”

Rogan XDS solutions provide a full set of products to effectively unlock data for both Rogan and non-Rogan products in a safe and secure way, in compliance with international standards. Zillion RIS, PACS and XDS successfully introduced at the Care & ICT Trade show.

Rogan-Delft, the first PACS company in the world and the winner of several Frost & Sullivan Awards, is proud to announce the introduction of new software for hospitals and other care providers operating in the Dutch market. The presentation took place during the recent ZORG & ICT trade show in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

After earlier successful introductions at the RSNA 2008 in Chicago and the ECR 2009 in Vienna, it was now the turn for the Dutch home market of Rogan-Delft to become acquainted with this entirely new software line. Two newly introduced products to the software family received the most interest.

The Radiology Information System (RIS) is a fully web-based RIS. This intuitively operable Zillion RIS allows its users to achieve higher efficiency and to increase service quality to patients and applicants. Also the Cross Enterprise for Document Sharing (XDS) solution drew a lot of audience.

As a participant in the IHE pavilion and as a participant of the Jaarbeurs Medical Centre, Zillion XDS was at the heart of all the demonstrations. The Zillion XDS environment contains both Central Repository and consumers, of which the diagnostic quality caught everyone’s eye. Documents, such as application letters, ECGs, PDF reports and diagnostic images were all presented in the correct manner. The introduction of the Zillion suite of products in the Dutch market ensures that one company has integrated all the aspects of the radiological workflow and is able to supply, install and provide maintenance of the total solutions for radiology.

“Rogan-Delft has been instrumental in incorporating value and scalability features like 3D imaging capabilities,“ elaborates Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Ranjit Ravindranathan. “By leveraging all its existing PACS capabilities into this product, Rogan-Delft has created a versatile PACS solution designed to adjust to various workflows, with a product range to appeal to all tiers of hospitals and diagnostic centres. Novel financing options like pay-per-service model along with a strong distribution network have positioned Rogan-Delft for success in a financially restricted European healthcare market.”

“With Pacs you do not just sell a box,” comments Guido Geerts, CEO of Rogan-Delft B.V. “It is a solution that should be able to grow organically. You constantly need to fit it into the hospital environment. A strong service organization and a very close contact with the customer is the basis of our success. We try to be part of the hospital organization by being as flexible as possible. This award strengthens our position and confirms our idea that service- and customer-value aren’t just buzzwords; they should be in your genes, it is the key to our success.”
